Special Technology for Special Kids

My students need opportunities to explore technology and need easy accessibility for communication. An iPad will allow my students to make choices and communicate.

My Students

My students are visually and severely impaired. They face many physical and communication challenges. An iPad would allow my students to be able to communicate their wants and needs through selecting choices on the iPad that give them visual as well as verbal prompts.

My students attend a center based school.

None of my students can verbally communicate. So, they use technology to make choices and communicate. My students have physical, medical, visual and one student has hearing impairments. We are attending a webinar that will teach us (myself and my staff) how to use an iPad that will help us help our students who are visually impaired use the iPad to their ability.

My Project

An iPad will give our students a chance to make choices and communicate their wants and needs therefore enhancing their lives. Giving them the opportunity to communicate and make their own choices will enlighten their lives. They can make their own decisions instead of having their decisions made for them.

Your donation to our classroom will provide students with the technology needed to better improve their life and allow them to communicate with peers, staff and family.

These students will have the opportunity to tell what they want and need.
