My Students

I am the School Counselor at the oldest active school in the state of Alabama. Despite our rich tradition our school is often forgotten. Many of our students are low income and some even homeless or displaced. But, despite their struggles our students are resilient and are very loving to each other.

Our students are smart, energetic, eager to learn and are very talented.

It is an honor to be their counselor and I am looking forward to seeing their growth and maturity. I think if we eliminate as many barriers as possible, students will have a better chance at learning and retaining the information provided.

Many of our students and their families struggle with meeting those basic needs, but that is where I try to come in to connect them to those resources. Our students are our future, we must preserve their innocence and foster a safe environment for learning.

My Project

We have an amazing second semester underway and I needed a few additional items to finish the year off strong. We have special Holidays coming up that we need supplies for our bulletin boards. Because our schedules are so hectic, a wall calendar and dry erase board are vital to staying on task.

As school Counselor, it is imperative that my lessons appeal to all students on all levels and many of the supplies requested insures just that.

All requested material are age and grade level appropriate for all students enrolled at our school and purchased with Ease and accessibility in mind.
