My Students

My students are amazing! Our school is located in a rural part of central California in the foothills of the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. We love our community and the natural resources we have in our area.

Many of my students come from middle- to low-income families.

My students come to school every day excited to learn something new and ready to take on new challenges. While our students have many obstacles in their lives, they persevere and succeed.

My Project

Healthy and happy students are a must in order for learning to take place. Students today, are dealing with so many outside influences that coping with the stressors of the classroom can be overwhelming at times. Many of my students need clean fresh drinking water and organizational tools to help them be more successful in the classroom. The other items in my project specialized masks and gators, for students who have ear pain, pencil grips for students who, due to being out of school for so long, have forgotten how to hold a pencil correctly, and large crayons and pencils for students who put too much pressure when writing or drawing.

This project is focusing on the special needs of a few students to help them be happy and healthy in my classroom.

They need reusable water bottles (clean water out of our drinking fountains has been an issue this school year), organizational tools, paper, pencil grips, specialized masks, and large crayons to help my students be happy, healthy, and ready to learn.
