My Students

Greetings from our junior high severe/profound multi-handicap friends! We are a classroom of the neatest kids in the school! Some of us have wheelchairs, others have leg braces, but we can all learn and we love experiencing new things!

We are an exceptional class of severely multi-handicap students who experience the world differently than most junior high children.

Our junior high students have many challenges in their lives such as struggling to communicate, mobility, major health issues, behavior issues, and learning challenges, yet they come to school each day happy to see their teachers and nurses. It is clear that each child is looking forward to new experiences everyday.

We require a variety of different material in our classroom to meet the needs of our students who are on a broad spectrum of learning. We use material appropriate for ages 12mo and up. Thank you for helping us be successful reaching our potential!

My Project

Designing a class for multi handicapped students takes thinking outside the box. Each one of my students has very unique needs and interests. I have included a variety of materials that will benefit all of my students regardless of their learning level.

These new items will create interest and a desire to continue working toward their educational goals.

Some of the items they will be receiving are new puzzles, sensory materials, musical sets, and stacking rings as well as items to keep our classroom environment safe for each of their unique health conditions.
