This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Pre-K to 5th grade school, some of our classes are ICT.

In our First Grade Integrated Co-Teaching classroom we have some students who require sensory stimulation to ease their body. During the course of a school day, the students aren't receiving the stimulation they need so their focus is compromised.

My Project

Our students will be able to use the sensory corner to take breaks periodically during the day. Having mental and sensory breaks will allow our students to focus more during the instruction period and will result in the students being on-task for a longer period of time. Can you imagine a student being able to self regulate his sensory by taking a mindful break and then returning back to the task on hand? What about a student that can sit on a chair for the entire lesson, using the bouncy chair attachment, the molding sand and the squeeze balls.

By donating to our project you will be able to help our special needs students have more self control while keeping up with the general education requirements.
