My Students

Our school is one of four schools in our district including one primary, one elementary, one middle school, and one high school. We serve students with a 78% poverty rate who quality for free or reduced price lunch.

With that being said, these students lack experiences to build their base knowledge.

I hope to conquer this challenge by offering them meaningful learning experiences, using technology, hands-on artifacts, and real life applications.

I teach forty-eight third-graders, that come from a rural community. My students are eager to learn, love technology, and always work to do their best, no matter the circumstances.

My Project

I plan to create a special place for VIP students to sit and get the "royal treatment" throughout the day. Part of their special privileges would be these special ball chairs at the front of the room! I plan to choose four students each day who I noticed exhibiting VIP traits the day before. Someone doing their best, giving 100% effort, showing kindness, etc. It will, hopefully, be someone new every day! If there's a rough day where no one was exhibiting top quality traits then the VIP table could be empty. This simple motivation could make a drastic improvement in classroom behavior!
