My Project

Our school works specifically with students with disabilities. One thing that I have noticed through the years of working with this classification of students is that having them stay seated and/or still for extended periods of time is near impossible.

After doing a lot of research, I found that providing students with different seating options can allow them to find a way to work out their extra energy while staying seated and learning in the classroom.

We currently share a ball chair with our physical therapist and I've noticed how much more my students stay at their desk and focused on the lesson, while they are sitting in that chair. For that reason, I felt that having a few to share throughout the school, in various classrooms, could benefit many others at the same time.

The standing desk is great for students that like to stand throughout the school day, but also want to continue ensuring they are learning as well. Having the band under the desk is an added benefit as well.

The teeter chair is a perfect alternative for the students that like to rock back and forth on the regular school chairs, in our classrooms. What is most beneficial is that you can change the height of the chair to allow both taller and shorter students with the opportunity to use the chair.
