Help me give my students Magna-Tiles, paint, Alpha Pops, a construction paper storage organizer, sensory bins, and more, to have a great start this school year.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach preschool autism, self contained in a Title 1 school. My students have been the reason why I show up to work every day and love teaching. This project is designed to help my students meet their fine and gross motor skills as well as their sensory needs. These different items and materials will help my students build up their sensitivity to sound, texture, touch and sight. For this project will we need Magna tiles for building and creating different things. Crayola washable paint is used in our art area and we use them for painting and being creative with different colors. Smart snack alphabet pop is a great fine motor game for my students. It helps with eye and hand coordination. My students would greatly benefit from having sensory bins. Studies have shown that children with special needs have a hard time with different textures. Having the creative outer space, mermaid lagoon, and race track sensory bins will benefit my student and their sensory needs. They will be able to try out 3 different textures using these bins. Farmers market coloring sort will help my students be able to identify and sort colors. Paint tray palettes will help keep our paint safe during our painting projects. Having a classroom timer helps my students understand time and will also help them with transitioning and it is important to have classroom timers for teachers and students.
