Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students with Autism are part of a school community of approximately 1,400 who attend school eager to learn. They enjoy learning vocational, social, motor, and academic skills daily.

They also enjoy and love participating in Special Olympics.

My students are inquisitive, passionate, eager, and motivated to learn independently while participating and learning good sportsmanship.

Due to Covid-19, my students have not been able to participate in Special Olympics, and I would like to give them a head start to get them physically and mentally involved.

My Project

Special Olympics is the highlight of our students year. It allows students with disabilities to achieve in physical events, social skills, and sportsmanship.

We do not have access to javelins and tennis balls for our students to practice ahead of time.

The 1st time our students see these items are at the events.

The finish line inflatable will be utilized during our students running events. Our students are such VISIBLE LEARNERS, and we have been using string. This would definitely upgrade their experience and see where the end of their running event would be completed.
