Please help me give my students knitting machines, needles, and yarn to encourage their creativity and help them learn new skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. O.'s classroom raised $241
This project is fully funded
My Project
"Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking the rules, making mistakes, and having fun." – Mary Lou Cook.
This project will fund two knitting machines, yarn, and supplies, which will help our students access this art form by making the process easier, faster, and less "motor skill" intensive.
The knitting machines will allow my moderate to severe special needs students to create items they are proud of producing. Overall, the skills and lessons incorporated with this project will support a variety of life skills, motor skills, and academic skills. Maybe even business skills if there is interest in their creations. In addition to developing all of these valuable skills, it will also encourage our students' creativity and self-expression.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
