Special Needs Swing Into School With Golf Practice Putting Green

My Students

My special needs students are in high school now, and we are working on independent living skills. My students have a variety of learning levels, including autism, learning disabilities, and lower-functioning students with mental disabilities. My classroom is designed to be a studio apartment in order to teach Activities for Daily Living. My students will be learning about the responsibilities that each of us have in our daily lives, and we will also learn how we will balance our work time and our leisure time.

My Project

Students will practice fine motor skills and sports skills with these fake grass putting greens, golf balls and tees. Students will learn the rules for playing golf and for setting up and putting away the putting green and materials. Working together as a team will teach my high school students about taking turns, practicing to perfect your skills, and how to follow rules and procedures in the game of golf.

Practicing putting skills will help my students focus on themselves, while also emphasizing how to be a part of the team.
