My Students
Socioeconomic status and disabilities put my students at a disadvantage in education and I want to give them the best education possible. I need the resources to do this. We need books to read that are complex and we must have enough for all of the children in our group.
My class is 33% special needs students, 100% free lunch, and 66% are minorities.
They love school and are so eager to learn. They attend an inner city school and all live about one to two miles from the school. Most of their parents are either incarcerated or unemployed. These students do not have books at home and our school is new so we do not have large collections of books.
My Project
These books are all about cowboys and cowgirls. Most books are exemplar text and included in Common Core sample lessons. These books make it possible for my students to get the best quality instruction possible. Help me help them reach their learning goals. They all know that they can go to college and developing their love of learning begins with quality books.
We need these books to help the students learn and reach their goal of going to college.
