This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have not yet discovered the advanced world of technology and need to learn how to use tablets in order to find information and master the different components of reading and writing. We have a limited supply of tablets at our school and not all students are able to use them.
My students are 5th graders, with special needs, who attend a Title I school in a very low socio-economic, gang-infested area.
They have extremely limited exposure to technology at home and are learning how to use computers at school. They are hard-workers and very eager to learn. I think that a new tablet will enhance their education and give them the opportunity to learn more about technology.
My Project
A new IPAD Mini will provide my students with many opportunities to learn new things. They will be using it to research different topic in order to write more focused essays that include more details. They will also be using the IPAD apps to master the different components of reading, writing, and math.
My students have special needs that require different ways of learning new material.
I believe that an IPAD mini will motivate them to explore new things and improve their performance in all academic areas. My students are faced with many challenges on a daily basis and this IPAD mini can serve as a tool to make learning a little easier for them.
