Special Needs Safety Calm Down Corner

Help me give my students the gift of safe flexible seating. My special needs students (intellectually disabled and Autism) are in need of some safe comfortable seating for our 'calm down corner'.

My Students

Hello! My students are called Ms. Jenn's Curious Kids. Our class at our Title I 7 intellectually disabled students in grades K-3. I am proud to say that my students, their parents and I have been working very hard on academics as well as life and social skills!

As you can imagine, in a class with students with intellectual disabilities, safety is number one.

They are exciting to teach and love to learn. Each day we focus on social skills including tools to soothe themselves while upset.

My Project

Thank you for considering donating to our project. Flexible seating in a special needs classroom is crucial. It provides students with the opportunity to wiggle, calm down and follow instructions. Bean bag chairs and plush chairs safely give students that opportunity.

My special education students have meltdowns, and sometimes end up on the cold hard floor.

They are in need of a safe way to calm themselves down. The bean bags will be especially helpful as a restful and comforting place to get some peace and quiet in a safe environment.
