This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2023), 22.5% of people with a disability were employed. This is the highest percentage since 2008. But, that still leaves a much higher rate of unemployment among people with a disability than among those with no disability across all educational attainment groups. As of 2023, the unemployment rate for those with a disability was 7.2 percent, which is twice that of those with no disability.

Our vision is to create an environment where people with disabilities are valued, accepted, and included in all aspects of society.

Grizzlies Cafecito was founded as an on-campus student-run coffee business with the goal of preparing students with both vocational and job skills for the workforce, creating and raising funds for students and classroom activities, demonstrating inclusion of each individual, and promoting valuable social skills.
