If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.-Chinese Proverb. My students need an iPad mini to improve Literacy skills.
My students are special education students in grades K-6th in Oklahoma.
My school is considered mild poverty. This group is highly diverse in learning styles and abilities. They have a common interest in computerized learning. Educational apps engage them in reading and written expression skills.
My Project
My students will be able to use educational apps specifically on their skill level. Whether a student is learning to write and identify letters or reading stories of interest, the apps will provide hands-on, repetitive practice. Creative writing is also essential to life skills. There are many apps that explore
multi-level applications to provide creative avenues to encourage written expression.
My students engage quickly with hands-on, high interest, educational apps.
They need individualized practice on their level to improve literacy skills. Each student would have a chance to use a specifically designed app to increase their reading and written expression skills.
