My Students

"I need one of those forms ... again! I need more time! You said 15 minutes. It can't be 15 minutes yet!" My students need tools to help them learn how to get and remain organized.

My students are in a self-contained Special Education classroom with grades ranging from 2nd to 4th.

Many of my students stay in the classroom the entire day. Often times, they're quickly frazzled and can't get their paperwork organized. My students have been diagnosed with a multitude of acronym based maladies, with the greatest diagnoses being ADHD. With their variety of needs, they ALL specifically need help in getting and remaining organized.

My Project

How amazing would it be for all of my students to receive all forms of communication from school, homework assignment and other pertinent information? I would love for them to be able to learn the skills of organization and gain the freedom and confidence to being able to manage their own papers! I've selected a mailbox for them to do just that! I've also selected a timer which can help them get organized in a timely manner. When I give students "15 more minutes" - they will be able to see the 15 minutes ticking away (thanks to the red on the clock displaying time needing to be lapsed) until that time is actually up. The 3rd item I've selected will help them organize sentences with proper punctuation and capitalization.

I BELIEVE my students in my Special Education class will be successful, organized learners.

To reach this goal, they need their paperwork organized, time managed and the knowledge of basic sentence structure. These tools will help them reach these goals!
