This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been impacted by COVID-19 they had lower reading scores and less ability to socialize than many students before the COVID-19 pandemic. Our students are in need of more reading materials to help them read more and socialize on the reading within a group setting.

My students also need manipulatives to have them interact with materials since they are hands on and during the pandemic were not always allowed to be in person and missed opportunities to be hands on.

Due to being online and using computers more are missing real books and hands on materials that are needed to build the reading skills necessary for them to be successful. My students are socially lower due to their disabilities and are need of materials that can help them socialize with staff and students. Hence the need for groups of books to read together and manipulative to practice skills.
