Special Education - Preparing Students For The World

My students need digital camera, cash register, and printer for our new program preparing our special needs students for the world.

My Students

My Students: "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" comes to mind when I enter my classroom. My students come in with a smile on their faces ready to work, learn and grow. We begin our day with technology, etc, computers, IPADS, tablets. I want my students to reach their full potential.

The students are a mixture of 44 boys and girls from grade 6th through 8th.

Their disabilities range from Autism, deafness, vision impairments, intellectual disabilities, severe and profound. This year our Special Education Department began a new program where the special needs students change classes for the first time and for the upcoming year we will be adding job skills to our curriculum. The job skills will consist of mail delivery, coffee shop, technology class, copying/collating, photography, and recycling. Our school is a Title 1 school and does not have enough funding to supply our students with he supplies we need to make this program successful.

My Project

My students need digital camera, cash register, and printer for our new program preparing our special needs students for the world. The materials that I am requesting will help our students to obtain the job skills necessary to prepare them for the world. The cash register and coffee maker will be used in the coffee shop that will be staffed with our special needs students. We have students who have an interest in photography. If the project is funded, we will be able to use the camera to train our students how to take pictures and print them on the printer. All of the items requested will be used to assist our student in being better prepared for the world. The students will learn how to sort and deliver mail, make coffee, operate a cash register, etc.

The materials that I am requesting will help our students to obtain the job skills necessary to prepare them for the world.

The cash register and coffee maker will be used in the coffee shop that will be staffed with our special needs students. We have students who have an interest in photography. If the project is funded, we will be able to use the camera to train our students how to take pictures and print them on the printer. We will be able to teach them how to use a cash register.
