Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are super, super special because they learn very differently. My students are very unique and have their own potential and capacities. They are from different cultures and from different grade levels. As their special education SETSS teacher I must ensure that they receive the special services they require in order to be successful. My students' ages range from five years old to eleven year olds.

My students need extra support with their academics, which is the reason why I am searching for support in order to meet their needs.

My students come from very low socioeconomic homes and they need all the resources to be given to them at school because they are not able to afford them in their homes. These youngsters are brilliant and have a strong desire to learn! Furthermore, we need basic supplies to start off our year strong and diving into learning.

My Project

These materials will make a difference because my students will have their basic needs fulfilled academically and health wise. For example, the lysol, hand sanitizer, cleenex tissue paper are basic supplies that parents do not send to my classroom during the school year because I am not my students classroom teacher I am the Special Education service provider who services all the children from grades K-5 with ELA and math as an interventionist. Those basic supplies will keep the germs away and maintain our students healthy. Also, I requested a printer with ink in order to keep the printer in school to print out as many fun activities to keep our students engaged and I also need it to print IEPs to provide parents and staff with our students information. Additionally, I am reauesting basic supplies such as pens to use as incentives, markers to group my students and create engaging tasks, construction paper and reams of copy paper. My school does not provide these basic supplies and I consider my students will need them in order to be artistic and demonstrate their skills through multiple tasks.
