My Students

I work with special education students with various types of disabilities. They are in need of materials that will develop their academic needs in written language. It is a constant struggle for them and they have the ability to progress with appropriate materials that are highly motivating.

My students have disabilities ranging from Specific Learning Disability, ADD/ADHD, and Autism.

These students have parents in the military and often have to deal not only with their academic issues, but the stress of deployment, which happens often. Despite their ongoing day to day difficulties they strive to give their very best and want to succeed in school. These students are extremely special in many ways. They have a ray of light that keeps them going even when they are worried about a family member serving overseas.

My Project

Having these materials in my classroom will provide instruction in written language during small group instruction as well as providing independent activities. They will be able to access common core in a small group environment that will be implemented at their specific level. Having this in the classroom will also help them gain the skills they need and provide them with confidence. It is so important for these students to feel successful since learning can be very difficult for them. It will make a world of difference for these students to have the following materials: Common Core Language Arts Standards Learning Centers - Complete Set for k-1, Common Core Language Arts Standards Learning Centers - Complete Set for grade. 2-3, Writing Activity Pockets - K-Gr. 1, and Writing Activity Pockets - Gr. 2-3 Since most of of students are at different levels it is important to have several grade levels for them to access that are not available within their general education classroom.

I can't tell you enough on how these language arts and writing materials will help my special education students.

Special education teachers often have a difficult time finding materials that will support students with academic challenges. These learning centers and writing activity pockets will provide so much excitement and motivation towards enhancing written language skills. Please take the time and opportunity to help my students who will be greatly appreciative for your assistance in their education.
