Special Education Life Skills Project

Help me give my students the equipment they need to be successful in my self-contained special education classroom. I service children in the community based programs where they are taught life skills.

My Project

In the community based classroom I am responsible for introducing different life skills to my students so that they will be able to function beyond the classroom. These skills will help them become self sufficient in living on their own. This classroom is also set up to teach students how to cook on their own and at this time we do not have all of the equipment to be as successful. We need we need an electric countertop stove.

Students will be learning how to set the table, cook meals and smoothies, make coffee, wash dishes and other house hold chores such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.

These task may seem small but, my students need extra assistance in learning these skills that may not take place at home. We need a dining room table, food ninja and coffee maker.

They are capable of completing these task yet, they need daily practice so that they can use these skills when they transition to high school and then independent living. Help my classroom become everything that they need so that these skills can be something we address with them daily.
