Special Education Is a Service, Not a Place

Help me give my students a paper shredder, write and wipe pockets, markers, and other tools that will help them bridge gaps in literacy and math skills.

My Project

The materials requested will help students bridge educational gaps through hands-on activities and the use of manipulatives while making learning fun and engaging.

With support, students who learn differently will be provided tools to help them meet their annual goals.

When you see the able in a student as opposed to the label ,children feel included and are more inclined to learn and succeed. The children in need of your support are significantly below grade level and try diligently to keep up with grade level instruction, but challenges are present as the material in their general education classroom does not always match the students' functional level of learning.

With your support, I will beable to use the universal design of learning and adapt the curriculum to fit my students' needs. For many of them, this includes hands-on instruction.
