This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first year teacher, I am so excited to begin to build my classroom community! I will be teaching kindergarteners who have autism in a separate special education classroom. These kiddos are so special and sometimes need that extra push to show all their amazing skills. My students are still developing socially and emotionally, so allowing different learning options will help them become successful in the classroom. My students will benefit greatly from flexible seating as they sometimes need to move their bodies in order to be regulated. I plan to read The Little Spot stories to teach them about feelings and emotions and ways we can deal with these big emotions. I can’t wait to see my students have fun, become great learners, show me their strengths and be confident in the classroom!
