Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are fortunate to have 2 computers and 3 iPads in our classroom. Our school also has a computer lab where all of my students can access technology at the same time. Please help me provide content for these computers and devices in the form of eBooks.
My transitional kindergarten students are learning to read and write.
They attend a high poverty school where many of them qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Some of them are learning English for the first time, and some have learning disabilities and special needs that require accommodations for their learning. All of them are eager learners who love anything related to technology!
Last year we were fortunate to receive a one year class subscription to Speakaboos digital stories and online content. We found this to be a wonderful program and have been enjoying it so far this year. Our subscription will soon be up, and I would love to be able to renew it so that this year's class can continue to use Speakaboos.
My Project
I am requesting a 30-user subscription of Speakaboos ebooks and online content. This subscription will last a year, and includes many stories, songs, poems and read alouds. The animations are clever and motivational.
Using these eBooks, my students will develop skills such as rhyming, letter recognition, story comprehension and more. My English learners will be able to have visual animations to help them understand the content. My Spanish speakers will be able to access stories and content in Spanish.
The eBooks are perfect for my students' age level. I am asking for the 30-user subscription because we have a computer lab at my school, and all of my students will be able to access this content at once in the lab.
Your donations will help to provide fun and engaging Speakaboos eBooks that will help my students learn to read.
