Help me give my students hands-on activities for phonics and math, that will help them socialize and develop academic language.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hoggan's classroom raised $849

My Students
Our classroom is a full-day kindergarten classroom in Granite School District with 25 students. Our class is reserved for students who could most benefit from attending a full-day program. In part, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of our students have never attended preschool, so this is their first experience with school. They are still learning how to function in a group setting. At the beginning of the year, many of them had never sat at a rug, followed a schedule, or walked in a line. They are also learning how to socialize with peers. They have been practicing speaking and listening to each other, taking turns, and working together.
My Project
We would like hands-on activities that students can use during centers, group-work, and partner work. This will help our students build their social skills, while also building their academics and language skills.
Academic books will help facilitate discussions, build language and vocabulary skills, and spark critical thinking for students even if they are doing virtual learning.
We like to use books for "Think, Pair, Share" discussions in our classroom. They also help students to make connections and understand why the content we are learning is important and, help them relate the content to their real life experiences.
