My Students
My students are hard-working, music-loving, collaborative learners who strive every day to do their best work. Our school embraces and celebrates the incredible diversity of our student body, and that diversity is well-represented in the choir program.
I am constantly seeking new tools for my students to use that will push their music-making to the next level.
Despite challenges with transportation, financial constraints, and busy schedules outside of school, my students attend after school rehearsals and performances. They are thoroughly committed to the program and each other.
My Project
My students love to work collaboratively on a variety of tasks in the choir classroom, but we don’t have the proper tools for them to share recordings that they are listening to. They frequently crowd around school-issued computers or place their personal cell phones in cups to amplify the sound, but neither of these solutions are particularly effective.
These speakers and accessories will allow my students access to high quality audio recordings when working in small groups.
They will use these recordings to learn their individual voice parts, listen to exemplary performances of choral works, and compose music using online notation software.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
