My Students
My students (& soccer players) from Nashville, TN are part of a school that teaches kids how to connect their heads with their hearts. We exist to empower our diverse community to live inspired, purposeful lives. Our kids are pushed to perform with excellence in terms of academics, but also believe that needs to be balanced with a big heart - learning kindness, empathy, and how to be a part of a community. As a coach, I see the soccer field as a training ground for life - making sure each player leaves the program as a leader in their community with the tools needed to build relationships and influence those in their circles. My players genuinely LOVE one another, especially in their differences, and understand what it means to put the TEAM FIRST.
My Project
Most teams that we play have resources that provide an environment that says “we are worth investing in”. We believe giving our girls the resources, such as a speaker, will give them a deeper confidence in their identity as a Valor soccer player. We hope that “nice” resources will emphasize the coaching staff’s belief & get our team to truly believe that “we are valued here”. Other athletic teams at our school have access to film, new gym, speaker systems, but our soccer team uses community fields, no film, etc. & our girls NEVER complain! This speaker will be used to provide fitness test audio, pump up music before practices and games, and brought to our team bonding events! We ask that you, too, would join in believing that this team is worth investing in.
