I am consistently amazed and inspired by my students' creativity, humor, heart, and hard work. Our school is located in a predominantly immigrant based community and many of our students families come from Caribbean countries. Our school, our families, and our students believe that reading and writing is a way in which we can examine our surroundings and self.
What they see of themselves and want to see of the world is powerful and what they reflect in their writing is inspiring.
My Project
Speaking with "voice" at our school and in the world is both encouraged and important. This ball would allow for our students' voices to be clearly projected for all to hear when sharing out in our classroom. The ball contains a small microphone allowing others to hear the speaker clearly, yet is soft and easy to pass around.
The QBall can build the confidence they need to continue to express their questions and thoughts in the classroom.
This ball would place the fun and excitement into classroom sharing, helping build communication skills, and ensuring everyone can effectively learn from others.
More than half of students from low‑income households
