My Students
My students attend a Title I school, so a majority of my students come from families with low incomes. Some of them are learning English as their second language, and having hands-on and very visual learning experiences are best to really help them get the vocabulary and be successful as they are in the later years of elementary school.
My students are full of excitement about learning and love coming to school!
The students I work with are full of great questions and really care about doing their best. Some of them are dealing with some challenges in life, but they are all wonderful kids and a joy to work with!
My Project
Being able to be heard is vital in any classroom. Having a throwable microphone (the Q Ball) will allow students to feel more included in learning and help them be active participants in their learning. The Q Ball will also help with hand-eye coordination.
Sharing their voice along with having a whiteboard to share answers will empower students.
Individual whiteboards, markers, and erasers that are easily accessible at their desks will allow for quick and more consistent involvement. Being able to be an active participant in their education is vital to helping students feel invested in their day to day learning.
This project will not only help my homeroom class but other 3rd graders who come to me for learning.
