Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The school I teach at is classified as a Community School. We serve our students but we also serve our community. A problem in our community of scholars and in our community in general is a lack of respect. The demographics of students we serve have experienced this issue.
My 2nd grade students would love to speak up and speak out on respect by creating colorful posters and making community salads.
With your generous support, my students' can make change in school and in the community. Students will use the color printer as a way to printout their messages and post them around the school and community. The plastic knifes and cutting board set will be used to bring the students together and allow them to use different ingredients to prepare community salads. The community salads will provide everyone the opportunity to engage in teamwork while respecting their peers.
My students are change makers, so they are looking forward to speaking up and speaking out on respect.
