Speak Out About Food Insecurity

Help me give my students the supplies such as planters, plants, seeds, and tarp to fight food insecurity.

My Project

When people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from everything else becomes secondary. They feel as though they have no control. Growing a garden with vegetables will give my students excitement to learn about healthy food choices and will give them a sense of control. By having the students garden various vegetables it will interest them into trying something they grew themselves. It will also give them food to enjoy. My students will learn how to garden at school and take their skills home and start their own garden for their families. Not only do they have this insecurity, the community on the whole has it. We would like to help our local food banks with the vegetables we grow and give them the supplies needed to start their own garden.

These gardening supplies will help build compassion for others as well as give them a sense of security!

We are in need of the planters, plant starters, seeds, tarp, and more. Learning about plant cycles, food insecurity, and bringing that experience to life will make this experience a lesson my students will never forget! Any help would be amazing!
