My Students
My Teacher Academy/Educators Rising students are an AMAZING group of students who are self-driven and are invested in their future and the future of teaching!
They are a compassionate and grateful group of students that want the same opportunities as other children and never fail to show gratitude at the smallest gestures afforded to them.
It is because of this reason and much more that I think it is important to invest in them and ask you to consider investing in them as well, to make possible experiences that they would otherwise not be able to take part in.
My Project
I began a formal closet called "Glitzy Glam" in a vacant classroom for girls at our school two years ago when I realized that many girls were not attending formal events due to not having the financial means. I begin collecting formals of all sorts and sizes along with shoes and accessories. This closet is available for girls from middle school through high school at no fee to them.
I believe that every girl deserves to feel beautiful, especially during a time in their lives when self-image is so crucial and I believe equally that a lack of finances should never stand in their way.
As we have begun to receive donations, we want to be able to hang the dresses and protect them so they can be used to their fullest extent. Through your donations for dress hangers and bags, this would make this possible. If I could let you see through my eyes the smiles on the girls faces when they find that perfect dress, it is truly something you would never forget!
