My Project
My students enjoy science and would benefit from having more high interest reading materials that support our science curriculum. Most of the science materials we have to support the curriculum are old and outdated. With budget issues and a lack of funding in our district, science books and materials are limited. Students need current science materials to support the science research and investigations that are done in our classroom.
Science-based comics, graphic novels, and current scientific magazines that support the science standards would be great additions to our classroom library.
These high interest materials also make students more likely to choose nonfiction texts during independent reading time. Students would enjoy enhancing their science knowledge through these reading materials.
