My Project
Imagine students stepping into a world where books come alive, games inspire vocabulary growth, and laughter accompanies every new word they learn. A literacy carnival brings this dream to life—a vibrant, interactive event designed to ignite a love for reading and language in students who may otherwise struggle to find excitement in traditional literacy instruction.
Our goal is to host a Literacy Carnival that turns our school into a festival of learning.
With game booths like “Word Ring Toss,” “Book Bingo,” “Spin-a-Genre,” and other book related games students will engage in activities that develop decoding, fluency, and comprehension in fun and memorable ways. These stations will be aligned to grade-level standards but disguised as engaging games, giving all learners—especially reluctant readers—a chance to shine. The event will include prizes like books and school supplies to ensure students take their excitement home, continuing the momentum beyond the carnival.
Many of our students come from under-resourced backgrounds and need creative, supportive experiences to build positive associations with reading. This event isn’t just a party—it’s a literacy intervention disguised as a celebration. With your help, we can provide the materials, decorations, books, and supplies necessary to bring this joyful and educational experience to life. Your generosity will help create a community of confident readers who see literacy not as a chore, but as a gateway to joy, imagination, and success.
