Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first grade students are naturally curious, full of questions like "Why does that float?" or "How does that work?" Providing them with STEM materials helps transform those questions into hands-on learning opportunities that spark critical thinking and creativity.
At this age, children learn best through exploration and play.
STEM materials-like building sets, magnets, simple circuits, and science tools allow my students to experiment, solve problems, and collaborate with one another. These materials help them understand real world concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math in ways that are fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
Right now, our classroom has very limited STEM resources. With your support, we can create a learning environment where students can design, build, explore, and discover every day. These tools will not only support academic growth, but also encourage perseverance, teamwork, and a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
