Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My transitional kindergarten students are brimming with excitement as they begin their journey into reading! Every day, I see their faces light up when they recognize letters, sound out words, and read sentences. It's a magical moment in their learning, and they are eager to take their skills further.
To keep their excitement growing and build on their new abilities, we need more books to help them practice and build skills and confidence.
Having a variety of beginning reader books is essential to keeping young children excited and engaged. These books will not only help them practice reading with partners but will also allow them to read to their 5th-grade buddies, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. By reading with buddies, they will build confidence and excitement. Their mentors will be able to help celebrate and inspire the learning of their TK buddy.
This is a crucial time in the literacy development of my young learners. With your help we can capture their enthusiasm and curiosity while it's at its peak. Your donation to our project will help ensure my TK students have access to high-quality, exciting books that inspire them to read more, build early fluency skills, and develop a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
