How do we create an atmosphere where students learn to love to read? By surrounding them with vibrant and engaging text! I have taught 4th grade for the last 11 years and am eager to meet my new class for the 2017-2018 school year.
It is important to me that my students develop a love for reading.
I would love to enhance my classroom library with engaging fiction and nonfiction to use during independent reading, small reading groups, and whole group lessons.
My Project
Please help provide students with personal copies of Scholastic Storyworks Jr. We currently use Storyworks in the classroom but the reading level is too high for about 1/2 my class. Storyworks Jr will provide the same great content at a more appropriate reading level. It will help transform our language arts curriculum with thrilling content across the genres combined with rich lesson plans, activity sheets and videos. We will use these during whole group reading lessons, guided reading, independent reading, and writing. They also align perfectly with the new Common Core Standards.
