My Project
Our online school is about to perform its first full music performance - a Variety Show - featuring the high school music class and other willing participants from middle and elementary ages. We need to build our music community, so that students have regular in-person music making opportunities.
Alongside us staging more concerts, open mic evenings and vocal ensemble class, I am creating a jazz jam ensemble and for this I need a library of music for beginners and intermediate students.
I love the Hal Leonard publications for beginning bands and the real books were what my high school teacher gave us with the simple instruction: "go work it out". We did just that and formed a student-led jazz sextet!
