This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Spanish immersion teacher at Freedom Elementary. This is my 1st year as a DLI teacher and I am so excited to teach my students the language, content area in Spanish and the culture of Spanish speakers.

Being bilingual has many advantages such as increasing a persons memory, social scope since you can communicate with more people and make more friends, better job opportunities, better academic performance, among many others.

I want to implement the dual immersion strategies that are going to help my students thrive and for that purpose having a rug where I can model and teach my students is key for success in my Spanish Immersion classroom.
