Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’d love to create a dedicated space in my classroom where students can get hands-on and fully engaged in their learning. The opportunity to explore, build, and create through learning centers during flex time brings excitement into the day while also reinforcing important academic skills. These specific items—such as organizational tools, hands-on manipulatives, and creative materials—will help make learning more tangible, especially for young minds that thrive on movement and discovery.
My goal with this project is to foster curiosity, collaboration, and creativity while maintaining a structured and inviting learning environment.
By having a space that’s well-stocked and organized, students can access resources independently, stay focused, and take ownership of their learning.
What makes my students truly special is their eagerness to learn in two languages. As second grade Dual Language Spanish Immersion learners, they work incredibly hard every day to build academic skills in both English and Spanish. This project would support their unique journey by giving them tools that allow them to explore content in meaningful, hands-on ways that bridge both languages and make learning come alive.
