Spanish Culture in the World.

My students need to have an approach to the 21 Spanish speaking countries. I will add this material to my scrapbook about the Spanish culture.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are passionate about learning a foreign language, specially the little ones, the fifth graders. They may be in the traditional program or they may belong to the magnet program but in the Spanish class, they are just one group that has fun learning the new language and culture.

I've seen that my students love to learn the language through projects and celebrations of culture.

Last year we celebrated Day of the Dead, 5 de Mayo and Hispanic Heritage Month.

They enjoyed making craft activities related to the different Hispanic cultures like paper flowers, Ojos de Dios, Aztec calendars and colorful skulls for Dia de los Muertos.

My Project

Each book will be added to my scrapbook about Spanish Culture.

My students will be able to see pictures and read bilingually about different Spanish cultures.

My students watched the movie "Coco" last year and now they would be able to read the story.

They will also learn the story of Frida Kahlo, the most famous female Mexican artist and visit Ecuador through Galapagos Island, Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Panama.

They will also learn about the Argentinean Pope Francis and learn about Global babies. I would like to make my students reflect about Global citizenship: that the planetary human community is interdependent and whole. We are essentially one.
