This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My sixth grade students are avid readers. They enjoy reading to self every morning during language arts. The books in Spanish will greatly increase their knowledge about different genres. One of our reading units is poetry and the author that we focus on is Jacqueline Woods. The materials chosen for this projects are books that will allow my bilingual students to have the opportunity to explore the same text in their native language. Being able to have text book that are aligned with what we are learning in class will increase their cultural knowledge.
