Spanish Books for Early Readers

My students need Spanish books for our classroom library.

My Students

My first graders will learn to read and write in two languages. It is important that they have enough books that are at their level so they can grow as readers.

I have 27 first graders who love to read in English and Spanish.

In our school, 54% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They enjoy participating in literacy activities, and they are eager writers and readers.

My Project

Every week, each student takes books home so they can read them with their families. I would like them to be able to take reading books in both English and Spanish. Unfortunately, we do not have enough books in Spanish for them to do this. In order to support their literacy development in English and Spanish, we need leveled books in both languages. I have requested books like Tu Arbol Genealogico (Your Family Tree) and Un dia nevado (A Snowy Day).

Our classroom library is a bridge between school and home.

I want my students to be able to share books in both languages with their families. You can help me make this a reality by helping me build our library.
