Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a classroom of 4th grade ELL/ESL students in a Title I community school. My students are 9 and 10 years old.
My students are very active and are hands-on learners. They love to see and touch everything they are learning.
These students work well in small groups to help each other learn the science and math standards. Every student in my class has different abilities that they share with others to help our classmates learn with us. We are truly a class of active learners.
My Project
All of my students are curious by nature. They want to learn and they do this best by being able to see and touch the things they are learning about. Science is no exception. This year is exciting because we are learning about space for the first time!
We tell our children we want them to reach for the stars and having telescopes will help us see what we are reaching for!
Having these telescopes will allow my students to see the space patters and constellations that we will be learning about this year and the years to come. We will also be using these on planned star watching nights with families. It will be so fun and engaging. Eye opening to say the least!
