This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our 7th and 8th grade full inclusion/ESL students enter our classrooms each day with a wide range of talents and needs. The majority of our students come from low income households, many students are first or second generation immigrants, and 80% of our students speak at least one language in addition to English. My students have persevered through so many life hardships and show up each day eager to learn and do their best! Your donation can help them continue!
My Project
My classroom is fortunate to have an arts partnership program that provides us with rich arts integration in our humanities class. My students produce lots of wonderful artwork over the course of the year but we don't have enough storage space to allow their work the appropriate drying time while being protected from being stepped on. Students will start the year by painting panels for a mural and we need a stackable drying rack to protect their work while it dries. This rack fits our needs perfectly because it will hang over the back of one of the doors in our classroom so that we can maximize learning space and protect student work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
