My Project

My students are some of the most hardworking, kind, and lovable children you could ever meet. They arrive at school each day eager to learn, full of curiosity, and brimming with potential. That is why I strive to create a classroom environment that is functional and comfortable for my scholars.

These materials will be essential in saving space and giving students choice in the classroom.

Currently, my ELD room has a bulky U-shaped table that only seats six students. While it allows for some collaboration, it takes up a lot of space and limits the flexibility I need to meet my students’ diverse learning styles. I am requesting two tables and portable lap desks to replace this setup. By rearranging the tables into an L-shape, I can still seat six students comfortably but also free up the center of the floor to place a cozy carpet.

This carpet will provide an inviting space where students can sit for small group activities, independent work, or hands-on lessons. Flexible seating options like lap desks and the rug encourage movement, collaboration, and choice in where and how students learn, benefits that are proven to increase engagement and comfort. Plus, the extra open space will be invaluable when teaching larger groups, allowing me to gather students more easily and create a more dynamic learning environment.
