I teach third grade in a school where we have a large population of EC students. We are required to teach about the sun, moon, and stars in our curriculum.
We just finished up a week of Space Camp to end the year and the students had a blast! I want to improve my space week and add in more games as well as a better way for the students to track the moon phases.
I would like to have several different games for the students to play. This will keep them engaged while still learning about the sun, moon and stars. I also want to have students track the moon phases using moon calendars. Looking at the moon each night will help them see what we are learning about in class.
I went to Space Camp as a child and I want my students to experience that same excitement. I still get goosebumps when I see a shuttle lift off and our children need to realize how important space and beyond is to our own planet.
