My Project

BES Garden Club members have an overwhelming desire to grow! Currently they are not equipped with the adequate tools to help them become the successful enthusiastic growers they are driven to be.

The requested garden materials will be used to integrate a hands-on experience that will promote and encourage healthy, lifelong nutritious eating habits--while enriching their knowledge on environmental and self-sustainability, permaculture growing methods and application.

The goal is to provide a garden-based learning experience in a fully equipped outdoor, living classroom--our school garden. The greenhouse, water house, and all other garden tools and equipment will be utilized to aid in our ongoing interaction with the growing process and life cycle of the food and plants we will be raising. Each item is essential and will make all the difference in not only the success of the school garden but also in whether or not we are successful in fostering, cultivating, growing and holding their interest in gardening. The desire to garden they already have at such young ages is absolutely something special and should be nurtured by anyone who is able.
