This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My student are loving, energetic, care free souls who although profoundly disabled they have a love for learning. My students attend a Title 1 school and unfortunately because they are older students several have little to no parent support. My student are currently in person learning with maximum social distancing orders due to their disabilities.
Everyday we face challenges while having any bit of success that can be praised.
They may be mentally fragile and receive accommodations but they will truly steal your heart. It is my daily goal to do what ever needed to ensure that they are as successful as possible.
My Project
This project will bring the ability of gaining a voice to children who struggle based on their disabilities. Not only will children be able to use voice activated software but they will also be able to use different applications that will help them read and learn necessary skills that can be used in every day life.
The iPads will be used as an assistive device to meet the needs of my profound students.
Due to COVID my students can not share devices. Also without the ability to use technology to enhance their learning experience has hindered their progress.
